My husband did something strange with the internet so that our neighbors could use it but the people around us couldn't as a trade of services, but now my lappy won't work. That was what I was writing off of. Now I have to work on this retarded ass computer that doesn't reboot half of the time unless I go through safemode with networking first.

Talk about obnoxious.

So, I finally got signed back into this thing and have things working... I will, time permitting, update tomorrow. Hopefully.

I know that I have been terrible. I know. I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I checked out project wonderful, and I saw that i never dipped below 6 the entire time I was not updating. I just want to tell you all that I appreciate your continual checking up on the story. I have jumped a head a little bit... and i felt that the complete changing in style meant that i needed to break away from the original line... plus the amount of chapters was getting a little out of hand.

Thank you all for not giving up on me. It warms my heart and gives me more steam.

Eventually I'm going to rewrite the part I just "finished" (if you want to call it that). Because, let's be honest, it needs work. A lot of work.

New ideas

While I've been sweeping the parking lot of my work place in the early mornings i have been thinking about a new appraoch to the story, and I think I'll take it. It is going to take some time. Enchanting Scales as you know it will be nothing more than a back story. WRiting from only one POV is very limiting and I sort of wrote myself into a corner there. For what is to come I want to write from other POV. It may be a little bit disorienting, but I am hoping that what I put in the title area may help out a lot. I am going to do some planning on it first for a little bit, so bear with me for a bit longer. After I see how smoothly this is all going I'll start putting up the chapters, but it will only be a three days a week sort of thing.

Sorry guys, but I'm going to have to go on a bit of haitus. I'm currently in the process of looking for a new job, working my wonkie hours again, and I have to find time for household chores and my husband. Also, my brother's wife is having their first baby, and there is a lot of... well... family stuff revolving around that since she's my first niece and my mom's first grandbaby. It's all very exciting. I'll try to update at least twice a week, but I don't know when that might be yet. Sorry for any disappointments this might cause, but for now everything is a bit more than I can chew and soemthing is going to have to take the back burner of my time. Writing isn't paying me right now, and it isn't my family. I know you'll all understand.

I think I'm going to update before I go to bed now since I have 6 people that faithfully read it before I get up at 4 in the morning. I have to go to bed early and get up early and my lappy takes about 20 mintues to boot up if I shut it down so it's a bit of a hassle to post before I go to work in the morning. The good news is this: I have chapter 49 finished and even partially edited. It's always so hard to tell. I'll have to come back to it in a week and see if it really is up to snuff. You know how it is. Everything is a lot crappier a few days after you finish it. The new wears off or something. So it's done and I still have to figure out how to work this whole thing so that the table of contents does not get out of control. I'm thinking of editing the first few chapters and moving it to another blog specifically designated for the first part of the story. I have no idea how to do web pages, so if anyone has any ideas that exclude those things that'd be great. It's been over 4 years since I've even thought of html.

All right. The Mummy 3 comes out tonight, and my parents, brother, husband and I are all going to go see the movie. We have to run to the store and I'm probably going to pass out when I get home. I just want to thank the people that do read Enchanting Scales. I know that it is a bit rough around the edges and needs some major editing, and I am working on that. Thank you for your patience and for saving me on that delicious site. I did not even know it existed until I made project wonderful, but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy that 2 of my 30ish readers saved me. That's a pretty rockin' percentage.

I hope you liked the filler story yesterday, but now it's time for the real deal.

Just so that everyone knows this portion of Enchanting Scales is coming to a close. I'm going to have to find a way to redesign the Table of Contents on the blog to read something like Part 1 and then only show you Part 1 chapters. If I had any computer smarts beyond using applications already available to me I would make my own website... but I don't. Sadly.

Short or long?

Either chapter 47 is going to be very long or very short. I'm not sure yet. My energy levels are telling me that it's going to be short. Work was the total suck today and my wrist has a cut on it where it rests on my laptop. I've also have the attention span of a rat right now. If I am not satisfied with 47 by the time I go to bed tonight (or at least remotely satisfied as in it sounds all right). It's not going to be perfect. Nothing I write is...

By the way, it's hard to write with the characters in the dark... I should use it to get good at writing about scents and sounds and touch, but damn it all.. I suck at it a lot. When I go back and edit, I hope it will end up better. Exercises never translate well when I start having dialogue.

I have gone through the ever so tedious process of making the chapters easier to go through. If you haven't figured out how to use the "New Post" and "Older Post" options at the bottom of the page, then I have something that spells it out a little bit more there. I'm not hatin' though. I read all of Magician's Merger before I figured out about the newer and older thing. It's a bit backwards for us Americans anyway.

I had the strangest dreams this morning. They totally messed with my head. My head messed with my head. When I was dreaming I remember thinking, "This would make a wickedly confusing short story." And then the second go around I thought, "Oh, I must have watched this on TV." Having the same disturbing dream twice in the same sleep kind of sucks. Especially when you get to die in it.

Time

I had very little time today, surprisingly enough. I spent most of my day writing 43 and though it is finished (for what it is worth), I have had no time to start editing chapter 2 and I have had no time to so much as write a sentence in my other project. Now I have to go to bed so that I can wake up to go to work for 9 hours tomorrow and hopefully I'll get enough time to write chapter 44. I might have to wait until I'm back on my 5-1 shifts and day offs to get my editing done and my writing.

The next time I don't have time to put up a chapter I'm going ot post the next thing for Greg... we'll see.

There it is, Ladies and Gentlemen. 41 is up, but it's a lot of dialogue. I always liked dialogue, but when I go through and do some major editing I think it might change a little to be more descriptive. Like I said, I'll keep you all posted so that you know if you need to go back and read and the originals will still be written up so all you have to do is email me or leave a comment and I'll email you what was originally there.

Chapter 40

Chapter 40 is up, but it is a bit short. Ok, it's very short. After the (scathing) review that I received I am not sure what to do with the story. I have 40 chapters written. Many of them I'm not exactly proud of at the present moment. I wasn't too proud of a lot of them in the past either. Right now I'm tired and not focused enough to do much good with writing Enchanting Scales. I've also had my mind clamped onto the idea of another story that came to me in a dream and is turning more and more steadily into a romance novel/mystery/crap.

Anyway, I'm going to try to start revising the chapters one by one. Chapter 1 was hard for me to write so I can only imagine how hard it is for someone to read. I'm going to start there and work my way down. I'm going to try and update for those of you that read it. I'm going to see how it goes over the rest of this week. If I can't keep up with the writing and the editing I'm going to have to cut back on the editing. I might not get readers or fans because of grammatical errors or misspellings or typos and a story that's a bit disjointed without much discription, but I have to write it out. If I don't it will burn inside of my head. I already have enough trouble sleeping as it is anyway.

I would like for my readers to enjoy the story. I would like to continue to update daily. The "chapters" may get shorter. I might reoranize it and call them something else. They could stay as chapters. The chapters could get longer or shorter. I'll make a post every time I edit a chapter and you can read it and see how you like it or whatever, but I will keep the original copy for anyone who might like it.

My first review

My first review did not go well. The reviewer liked the dragons and nothing else it seems. I can live with that. I can't defend myself on much of it. I am having problems telling instead of showing. I did not agree with the comments about the commas missing. Just because your mind puts a pause there does not mean a comma goes there. I got in trouble in college because of comma splices all the time and I learned pretty much where they should and should not go. Other than that, I can't say anything else. It hurt a bit that the person who read it didn't really like it, but what can you do?

All I can say is thank you for taking the time to write the review, and I will try to do a better job at showing than telling.

Writing

I'm good for tomorrow on Enchanting Scales, but I've been spending most of my time writing on my newest idea. I like how it is going so far. I am going to make an attempt to get a deal with a publisher. If I don't I may just do it in webserial form. I want my stuff read. I have kept it to myself for too long for fear of other's rejection.

Anway, I know I have at least 23 people that read this regularly as of the last five days. I haven't been advertising for the last couple so i know that is not attracting knew readers. I would love some feed back about my writing style or anything else.

It sucks when you have too many ideas

Well, it sucks more when you don't have enough, but it does suck when you have too many. I've given myself a deadline. It's daily and meant to keep me going. I also have a book in the works. I only have 6k words written, but I like how it is going. Plus, my mom wants to start writing as well and I've been riding her butt to get her writing it because the concept just makes me hungry for reading.

I've also been watching the ads closely. About every day I get about 24 unique hits. For all those that are reading please spread the word. I know that Enchanting Scales is not the most adult and edgy story and it's a bit contrived, but it is a fun wacky story that I have fun writing. It is also a challenge to have a main character like Pandora.

Keep reading and remember that I do update on weekends as well.

This morning I woke up with what I think is a brilliant idea for a story... tale... thing. It might even be full blown novel quality.

If I'm going to be writing it that means that I'll have even less time to work on Enchanting Scales. However, I will try to keep up my daily schedule. Enchanting Scales is supposed to be a fun, almost fast paced story that I like to write and that I hope others like to read. I have no intention of ever publishing Enchanting Scales, but I think that Gold Mine will be a good chance for me to really become a writer.

They're a good quick, but engrossing read... which probably makes it a good thing that it is so short. All of my favorite web serials are having the same problems I am it seems. Well, not all. First XH is taking his time in giving me a new story to read. MU has been having some problems, and now Qo7 is going to go from updating trice a week to once. It breaks my heart.

Anyway, on that note tomorrow is the beginning of the daily updates again and I have 3 chapters up already.

The last two days have been spent doing laundry, writing, and watching Project Runway. That has got to be the most frustrating show on the planet... or one of the most frustrating. The things that they think are fabulous are hideous most times. Of course, all the dresses kind of look like the same thing over and over with different fabric and maybe some freaky cut. I don't know. What is really bad about it, is that people win who design clothes that women just can't wear. I would not be caught dead walking around in public in a yellow plad torn up catour dress.

Chapter 27 ended up being pretty fun to write and I wanted Pandora and Oola to spend some time together.

I also realized something while I was writing with Topaz. He is very much like my little brother. He is quick to take offense but very protective of the people he loves. I hope that he doesn't turn entirely into my brother, but I guess that my little brother is who I based him off of. I hope he never reads this though. He would be offended. Mostly due to the fact that Topaz has a problem using the toilet.

I'm also amused that Rubio is the only one wise enough not to contridict him when he says something.

Holidays and Retail

Well, here is the deal: I work in retail. Grocery retail. You know--food, beer, soda, chips, and that ilk? Well, it's a busy time of the year for us grocery folks. We sell a lot of food and a lot of vendors come in. Plus, I have to go to bed super early and wake up super early.

I won't see my computer for over 24 hours and even if I brought it with me I would be too tired to write. I'm going to try my damnedest to post tomorrow. I'm having some trouble with 26. It is a pivitol part. It explains a lot about the girl's situation and sets the stage for some more stories. Plus, people in power are hard to portray accurately. I don't think I'm going to succeed in it. REally, in the end it doesn't matter. It is from Pandora's point of view. She'll remember him any way she likes.

Oh well. Keep your fingers crossed for me. My vacation is going to be spent away from the internet, but I can still bring my laptop along and get some writing done. If worse comes to worse, I'll make up for the days that I am on the internet.

Mass Effect

I know that this is generally a writing thing, but since the game is what was generally keeping me from dedicating my time to writing, I guess I'll just have to say it. I beat it. It was faster than I liked, but that is what the second time around is for, but I can't give it the same dedication. I tell you though, it had me crying for about an hour, seriously. I think I might cry now. It's my fault though, I guess. Oh well. Now I'll be a good little author and start writing again.

Chapter 25 is done, but I will not post it until Wednesday. It is probably going to drive me nuts, but I'm going to have to slow things down a bit for a while. Next week I'm going on vacation, and I'm going to dedicate a lot of time to writing and planning. There is a lot going on in the story outside of Pandora, but since it's through her view its limited. I will probably have to write up side stories of what happened outside of her perception. Maybe later such stories will be open for everyone to read, but not until the consequences of the tales are shown.

The language is a little mordern, I'll admit. Pandora is a bit more chatty than usual, I admit, but I liked the chapter over all and one turn of phrase changed would change the way the whole conversation could go. I'm only so talented. I'll try again later when the story has progressed more. The chapter is basically to give you information and show you what Pandora hides from everyone including herself.

It's a little too short for my liking, but I decided to cut out unnecessary paragraphs and details that would just confuse the story anymore than chapter 21 seems confusing. It strikes me as a bit clunky, but I think it'll get a little better. Tomorrow's installment will definately make up for this one.

Well, tomorrow I have a busy day ahead of me. I won't have any time to write, so I put up the story for tomorrow up. I might not even get to write anything for friday, but I will have something for Saturday and possibly even Sunday. However, I think I'm going to have to make it so that I don't update on Thursdays and Sundays... because I always have to work on Sunday from 7-4 and for some reason that saps a lot out of me. Plus, I tend to have to work at 5am the next day. It generally does not help. Thankfully I had chapter 13 mostly written from yesterday so it is done now. Fourteen hasn't been started yet, but it definately has a plan and I'll be thinking about how to make it work tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get some time after my weight watcher's meeting.

Apparently my browser still wants to be a butt. It doesn't like the sign on page so I have to go through a round about sort of way to get signed on. However, since I have figured it out the new chapter is now up... Yay! Go me.

Anyhow, now I have to eat something for breakfast or whatever so that I won't be starving through my 9 hour day at work. If things work out well I might end up taking an apprenticeship at my family's business and taking some classes that I lack so that I qualify. My good and faithful friend for four years now (Lappy) has finally decided to let me get to the blog on my own computer. Yay for Lappy.

I think I should probably stop naming things.. or maybe not since my new laptop is the black little piece of sh*t that won't even start up anymore. Evil Best Buy. Evil.

Anyway, I don't know how much time I'm going to get to write for the next few days. My little brother is coming home finally. I haven't seen him since last year. He didn't even get to make it to my wedding. I'm happy to see him, but I know that it's going to take some of my time. We probably won't spend much time together though, since we can't be in each other's company for more than five minutes before we start yelling at each other. Thankfully though, I have 3 installments already done. I might have to refer to them as something other than chapters though.. or at least devide it into parts. They're short installments. I couldn't do much more on a daily basis.

Oh well.

I was also thinking about making a story called Gamatology... full of gamer humor.

The current story I'm working on is based off of a game that I played with my husband as the DM. It didn't last much longer than us getting four dragons and definately didn't go into detail. We really did name the dragons those names too, though... the names did change a bit over time.

If I were to write Gamatology it would be about a very lucky and chaotic character... but it would mostly be dialogue. It might not even go far, but it would be fun to write.

Stupid browsers

I use the fox. Shame on me. Really. Shame. When I was in college I had a horrible time with pop ups. Mozzilla doesn't allow them which is both good and bad. However, the fox decided that it doens't like blogger, and shuts down any time I hit the page or try and log in. Sometimes I goes a little bit farther, but it isn't letting me update, so I'm using my husband's computer to post it. I really hope he doesn't mind.

Anyway, I know no one is reading this right now.. but whatever. Thought I'd explain myself. I'd ask for critique.. but that's probably just as pointless at this point. this is really just an exercise for me to keep writing. I haven't done it religiously since I was 18 years old. It's time I got back into the swing of things and let the funk overtake me again.

I don't want to go to work. It really is too early in the morning for civilized human beings to get up on a regular basis. Plus, now my keys are sticking. G key specifically.

I've been spending too much time reading serials from pages unbound and not enough time writing. I'll have to finish up at least the chapter I'm working on and maybe start on another before I keep reading after work. Which I still need to get dressed for. Why does putting on shoes take so long?

Oh well, at least I'll have a co worker today. I wonder if anyone would read a serial about work at a grocery store. I know they'd probably read comics, but serials have no pictures. Oh well, ponder ponder ponder.

I enjoy a good webcomic, so I decided that it would be a good thing to have a list. As I remember the ones that I frequent I'll probably put them up too, or if I find anymore good ones. This is really the most work I've ever put into a blog. Usually I paste up a few sites that I thought were intriguing and then I'm on my way. Oh well, back to doing some good old writing.

I thought I'd write a serial since I can't draw. I'm sorry if it starts out a little slow.
